“I have learnt a lot. I feel more confident and assertive in all areas of my life and am using the skills we developed in the sessions in everyday life.” Melanie, special needs co-coordinator.
We are made up of mind, body and spirit. Our mind with its intellect and emotion. Our physical body. And our spiritual essence. Holistic life coaching is facilitating someone’s experience within all these states of being so they reach a state of empowerment and balance.
We engage with life from many perspectives: work, intimacy, learning, material resources, skills development, social interaction, family etc. Underpinning all these ways of engagement is how we feel about ourselves. Underpinning even this is what gives our life meaning. Holistic life coaching is being a guide to someone’s processes of self-discovery and how they use this learning in daily life.

Stage Two: Supervised Skills Development and Supported Distance Learning
The supervised skills development and supported distance learning run concurrently.
Supervised skills development
You need to complete 40 hours of supervised skills development before you take on case studies.
There are two different ways you could have your skills development:
1 Face-to-face group Saturday workshops
You need to attend seven Saturday workshops for supervised skills development before taking on case studies.
Saturday master classes in Brighton, Sussex, UK These run from 10am – 4pm on the following 2017 dates: 15 July – 16 September – 14 October – 18 November – 9 December
2018 dates: 13 January – 10 February – 17 March – 14 April – 19 May – 16 June – 14 July – 15 September – 20 October – 17 November – 8 December
2 Remote sessions
These skills development sessions are facilitated online via Skype, Facetime or a learning platform. You will be trained, observed and assessed delivering coaching in two ways:
- when you and your client are in the same location (this develops your face-to-face coaching skills – please note you are required to find your own volunteer clients)
- when you and your client are in different locations (this develops your remote coaching skills – I will provide some volunteers for you to work with)
You can book your remote skills development sessions when you choose. Each session will last an hour and includes coaching delivery and feedback. Choosing to have your supervised skills development remotely gives you individual course delivery and support. However, to give a sense of student community and extra skills development, you are welcome to attend the face-to-face group master classes in Brighton at no extra cost.
Supported distance learning
You can go at your own pace for the distance learning with the full support of your tutor. This is designed to give you the underpinning knowledge you need in order to practice holistic life coaching. As well as the pre-course reading, additional textbooks are provided. Based on this reading and your self-directed study, you complete assignments at your own pace. Completed work is passed onto your tutor for marking and comment and returned to you together with the next module.

WHAT THE STUDENTS SAY
Here’s what some of our Diploma Students have said:
I enjoy doing a course that is organized well! It gives me a feeling that I am making progress. Tasnein, Seiki practitioner
I found the course very interesting. The aspect I found most revealing was whatever presented as the ‘concern’ e.g. work, personal or health issues – behind it all, are our experiences and attitudes which colour our outlook on life which in turn dictates how we approach our problems. The course was very informative and helped expand my knowledge and presented some interesting aspects to deal with. The case studies helped ‘bring things together’ and provided real opportunities to use the tools given. Brenda, therapist
